DM reached Remount Depot and sowed Super Napier grass himself
Trainee horses will get Super Napier grass at Remount Depot

Saharanpur, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra reached Remount Depot and sowed Super Napier grass with his own hands for proper arrangement of green fodder for mute animals. Horses are trained at Remount Depot. Which are used in the services of Army and other prestigious institutions. DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that horses will benefit immensely by getting nutritious and healthy grass like Napier grass. He said that mute animals are very sensitive and are loyal to their owner and their nation. He told that for the destitute cows, along with the land of all the cowsheds and pastures of the district, Napier grass has been sown by the farmers in large quantities. Due to which mute animals are getting easy availability of green fodder throughout the year. Dr. Dinesh Chandra told that Napier grass will be planted on 50 acres of land at Remount Depot. Seeds have been made available for sowing at the depot. The DM praised the work being done by Colonel Navdeep Yadav and his team for the development of the remount depot and the training of the horses living there. The officials of the remount depot expressed their gratitude to the District Magistrate for providing the seeds of Napier grass. On this occasion, Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Yuvraj Singh and officials of the remount depot were present with him. DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra said that Napier seeds are also being made available to the farmers. Interested farmers can contact the District Magistrate's office. He directed all the officials to plant Napier grass on public land suitable for farming. He appealed to all the farmers of the district to produce as much Napier grass as possible and also asked them to inspire other farmers. DM Dr. Dinesh Chandra directed that maximum Napier grass should be sown on pasture land. He said that Napier grass can be produced throughout the year. Explaining its benefits, he said that production of Napier grass is a better option for self-sufficiency for continuous availability of green fodder, especially as a nutritious diet for destitute and dependent animals throughout the year. This is a nutritious fodder which will not only fulfill the food requirement but will also help in keeping the cattle healthy.
