Saharanpur. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod praised the Regional Village Industries Officer S.L. Agarwal for the Khadi Mahotsav organized by Khadi and Village Industries Board in Company Bagh and instructed to start planning from now to organize the next year's event on a large scale. In this exhibition, 85 stalls of self-made products have been set up by Khadi Village Industries, women-run self-help groups, handicraft artisans / units, in which honey, Ayurvedic products, various types of pickles, Agra-made shoes, Patiala shoes, Maharashtra's silk sarees, Banaras sarees, world famous Saharanpur-made wooden carved furniture, Moradabad's brass items and Khadi clothes etc. were sold. The city residents visited the stalls set up in the exhibition and made purchases. Till 21.11.2024, the participating units sold goods worth about Rs 1.20 crore, which is 1.5 times more than last year. It is to be informed that Khadi Mahotsav-2024-25 was organized by Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board from 08 November 2024 to 22 November 2024 in the premises of Company Bagh. It was inaugurated by Minister of State, Uttar Pradesh Government, Jaswant Saini.
