Saharanpur, A meeting of District Environment, Tree Plantation and Ganga Committee was organized in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Manish Bansal. In the meeting, District Magistrate Manish Bansal reviewed the plantation done in the district and directed all those departments to do geo tagging in a week which have not done 100% tagging yet. The committee formed in Mela Gughal was directed to ensure environmental protection. District Magistrate Manish Bansal directed to run a campaign to collect waste plastic lying in open grounds of urban and rural areas. For this, instructions were given to form a team of students of all schools and colleges and collect plastic by doing Shramdaan. Along with this, he also directed to take out a funeral procession of the collected plastic. Instructions were given to the Municipal Corporation to take appropriate action to dispose of the collected plastic. Regarding the disposal of dirty water falling into Kailashpur Wetland, instructions were given to the concerned officer to develop that area along with cleaning the drain. DM Manish Bansal, while taking information regarding the disposal of bio-medical waste, directed the medical department to provide information about the bio-medical waste generated in all the registered hospitals and nursing homes of the district. Instructions were also given to dispose of the discharge during Ganesh Mahotsav in a proper manner.

DFO Shweta Sen said that a link to a Google sheet was shared with the members of the District Environment Committee in which all the members can submit their agendas, so that those agendas can be discussed in the upcoming meeting. PD DRDA Pranay Krishna, District Panchayat Raj Officer Alok Kumar, Ravindra Miglani, Anupam Gupta and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
