Deoband, Parents of Muslim children studying in The Doon Valley Public School in Deoband Nagar, Saharanpur have demanded from the school management to teach Urdu subject to their children till class eight. The delegation met the Principal and submitted a memorandum in this regard. The parents who reached Doon Valley School located in Industrial Estate gave a memorandum to Principal Seema Sharma under the leadership of Huma Jamal. Said that a large number of Muslim students are taking education in the school, but they are not getting education in Urdu. Whereas most of the CBSE affiliated schools are providing education in Urdu subject. He said that after passing out from school, students often apply for admission to Jamia Millia and Aligarh University for higher education. But due to lack of initial knowledge of Urdu, they are deprived of getting admission there. He demanded NCERT books of Urdu to be taught to minority students from nursery to class eight.
