Delhi government will bring a law to regulate coaching centers
AAP said - will not wait for the center
Delhi, AAP minister Atishi says that the Delhi government is going to bring a new law to regulate coaching centers. She says that the party will not wait for the action of the Center. Atishi said that after the accident at RAU's IAS Study Circle Coaching Institute, the basements of 30 coaching centers have been sealed and 200 institutes have been given notice.
Amid outrage over the death of three civil service students due to drowning in the basement of a coaching center in old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi minister Atishi said that the AAP government will bring a law to regulate coaching centers. Addressing a press conference with Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, Atishi said that after the tragedy at RAU's IAS Study Circle Coaching Institute, the basements of 30 coaching centers have been sealed and 200 institutes have been given notice.
'Coaching Institute Regulation Act'
Shelly Oberoi said, 'We will listen to the demands of the students, we will soon have a meeting with them and after that we will bring the Coaching Institute Regulation Act.' Citing the preliminary report of the MCD, Atishi said that the primary reason behind the incident was encroachment of the drainage area by coaching centres, due to which the flood water could not recede.
She also said that the junior engineer responsible for stopping the encroachment has been 'permanently suspended' by the MCD. Atishi said, 'All the coaching centres there have encroached upon the drain, due to which the water is not going down.'
