Raipur, 28 April 2025 As per the guidelines of Women and Child Development Department, Raipur, prompt action was taken on the information of child marriage received from Urla police station area today under the guidance of District Program Officer Ms. Shail Thakur and District Child Protection Officer Mrs. Rashmi Bala Tiwari.

The Sector Supervisor cum Child Marriage Prohibition Officer reached the marriage venue and asked the girl's parents to submit age related documents. In case the documents were not made available, the enrollment rejection register of the government school was observed, in which the girl's age was found to be less than 18 years.

In the said situation, child marriage was stopped under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006. Legal information was provided to the parents regarding not getting the girl married till she completes 18 years of age. Along with this, a consent letter and panchnama were prepared in the presence of the councillor and local dignitaries, on which the signatures of the girl's parents and the people present were taken.
