National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has reached Beijing to discuss the border dispute with China. Here he will take forward the talks to resolve the border dispute with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Ajit Doval and Wang Yi are also the special representatives of their respective countries for talks on the border dispute.

First meeting in five years

When Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met during the BRICS Summit in October, both the leaders had instructed their Special Representatives to meet as soon as possible and take forward the talks on the border dispute. Doval has visited China in this connection. This will be the first meeting between Ajit Doval and Wang Yi in five years, especially regarding the border dispute. Although Doval and Wang Yi have talked many times after 2019, but this will be the first meeting as Special Representatives.

Talks on December 18 in Beijing

After the border patrol agreement, this dialogue is considered a sign of improvement in relations between India and China. NSA Ajit Doval will lead the Indian delegation in this dialogue to be held in Beijing on December 18. According to the information confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), this dialogue will focus on maintaining peace in the border areas and finding a fair, logical and mutually agreed solution to the border issue.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement issued late night, "NSA and India's Special Representative (SR) on India-China border issue Ajit Doval will hold the 23rd SR meeting in Beijing on December 18, where his Chinese counterpart, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will participate."
