Rekha Gupta took oath as Chief Minister
Delhi, A new government has been formed in the country's capital Delhi. Rekha Gupta took oath as Chief Minister in a grand ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rekha Gupta. Along with Rekha Gupta, six of her MLAs have also taken oath as ministers. With the swearing-in of Rekha Gupta, BJP returned to power in Delhi after 27 years. Rekha Gupta has become the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, on Wednesday late evening, a consensus was reached on the name of Rekha Gupta in the meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Legislature Party.

BJP's fourth CM in Delhi
Rekha Gupta is the fourth Chief Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi. Earlier, Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj have been the Chief Ministers of BJP in Delhi. With the swearing-in, Rekha Gupta has become the only woman Chief Minister in any BJP-ruled state at present.
BJP has come to power with a huge majority
The Bharatiya Janata Party ended the decade-long rule of Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in Delhi by winning 48 out of 70 seats in the assembly elections held on February 5. BJP last came to power in Delhi in 1993-98. Like the last two times, this time too Congress has been wiped out.
Who is Rekha Gupta
In the recently concluded assembly elections in Delhi, Rekha Gupta (Rekha Gupta News) has won the election from Shalimar Bagh. Rekha Gupta became an MLA for the first time and became the Chief Minister. Rekha Gupta defeated AAP's Bandana Kumari from Shalimar Bagh seat by a margin of 29,595 votes.
Rekha Gupta was born in Nandgarh village of Jind, Haryana. Two years after her birth, her entire family shifted to Delhi when her father got a job as a manager in the State Bank of India. Rekha Gupta completed her studies in Delhi. During this time, she joined ABVP i.e. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and became active in politics. Rekha Gupta has also done LLB. Rekha Gupta became the councilor of Pitampura (North), Delhi in 2007. Rekha Gupta has also been the General Secretary of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha. From 2004 to 2006, she was the National Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party's Yuva Morcha. Rekha Gupta comes from the Vaishya community, which has a considerable number in Delhi. The Vaishya community is also considered the core voter of BJP.
