Chilkana | Saharanpur, Yamuna river started to swell as soon as the rains started. Due to this, three villages of Uttar Pradesh across Yamuna were cut off for several hours. Due to the removal of the temporary pipe bridge built on the Yamuna river, people now have to take the help of boats to travel. Yamuna, which flows on the border of UP and Haryana, brings destruction with it every year during the rains. On one hand, the floods cause erosion in the fields on the banks of the river, on the other hand, the standing crops in the fields are also damaged. The rainwater in the Shivalik hills suddenly came into Yamuna. Due to the flood water, the villages of Sondhebans, Gajdinpur and Bhud were cut off from Uttar Pradesh for several hours. When there was less water in the river, people started crossing the river by taking the help of boats.
Temporary bridges are made by the people of the area by laying cement pipes in the Yamuna river. Due to which people can easily travel to Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Last year, due to sudden floods, the cement pipes laid in the river were washed away. During the rainy season, people travel by boat only. There was no loss of life and property due to the floods, but the horror of floods in the coming times has definitely been predicted.
This is the first time that the water in the Masakhara river and Budhi Yamuna river flowing in the area had dried up. There was no water in both the rivers for about a month. The aquatic animals died and the animals living in the fields had to face the problem of drinking water. This time the water level in the Yamuna river also decreased. Now water has started coming in both the rivers.
