Saharanpur. A meeting was held regarding the verification of ration cards and arrangement of vacant shops under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Manish Bansal. In the meeting, the District Magistrate directed that the arrangement of all the vacant fair price ration shops of the district should be ensured by 31st August. For this, he directed all the Block Development Officers to organize an open meeting of the Gram Sabha within 15 days on the vacant fair price shops. He directed all the Sub-District Magistrates and Deputy Commissioner Self Employment that there should be no delay in the action to be taken at their level. The DM said that a review will be done again within 15 days, if negligence is found at any level, then strict action will be taken against the concerned. Instructions were given to the BDO to verify the applications received for new ration cards by 15th August. Instructions were also given to complete the process of restoration and cancellation of suspended shops as soon as possible. DM Manish Bansal instructed all the Block Development Officers to expedite the verification work and complete the verification work by August 15. He said that the ration cards of the workers registered on the e-shram portal who do not have ration cards should be made on priority basis as per the rules. Also, such eligible beneficiaries of the destitute women pension scheme, old age pension scheme and disabled pension scheme who have been left out of being covered under the National Food Security Act should be verified and in case they are found eligible, the process of issuing ration cards should be ensured. District Magistrate Manish Bansal instructed all the Sub-District Magistrates, Block Development Officers, Executive Officers and Supply Inspectors to run an intensive campaign in the district to identify the ineligible and cancel their ration cards and ensure that the eligible get the benefit of the scheme immediately. The ration cards of ineligible cardholders found in the investigation by the verification team should be cancelled by giving them a notice and the reason for ineligibility should also be clearly mentioned. Instructions were given to complete the remaining 75 model fair price shops being built in the district as early as possible. Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan, Additional District Magistrate Administration Dr. Archana Dwivedi, PD DRDA Pranay Krishna, Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Yuvraj Singh, Sub-District Magistrate Nakur Sangeeta Raghav, Sub-District Magistrate Behat Manvendra Singh, Sub-District Magistrate Rampur Maniharan Surendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Self Employment Indrapal Singh, District Supply Officer Manish Kumar along with Block Development Officer, DPRO Alok Kumar along with Block Development Officer, Executive Officer and Supply Inspector were present in the meeting.
