Saharanpur. As per the instructions of the government, the Deputy Agriculture Director in the district conducted surprise inspection of pesticide sales centers in Behat tehsil area, District Agriculture Officer in Nakur and Sadar tehsil and District Agriculture Protection Officer in Rampur and Deoband tehsil areas along with his team. During the inspection, the records and bills related to the pesticides kept for sale were observed. In the sequence, the pesticide license of M/s Narang Seed Store was suspended due to incomplete records and the sale was stopped till further orders. A total of 10 samples of suspicious pesticide chemicals were collected from the district for analysis. These will be sent to the pesticide laboratory for testing and if any sample of pesticide chemical is found to be substandard, then action will be taken against the concerned under the Pesticide Act-1968. Apart from the above, the establishments of 8 pesticide sellers were found closed during the inspection, show cause notice has been issued to them. The Agriculture Protection Officer appealed to the farmers and said that while purchasing pesticides, they must get the bill of the pesticide from the seller and use the chemical in their fields only in the recommended quantity.
