Accidents are not being controlled in Saharanpur
1131 died and 1710 were injured in 1611 accidents in three and a half years

Saharanpur, Road accidents are not stopping in Saharanpur district. People are losing their lives every day. According to the information received from the Transport Department, 1611 road accidents have occurred from the year 2021 to 31 May 2024 in which 1131 people have lost their lives and 1710 people have been injured. District Roll Out Manager Azim Saifi said today that from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021, 369 people died and 509 were injured in 487 accidents. There were 473 road accidents in the year 2022. In which 333 people died and 547 were injured. In the year 2023, 337 people died and 512 people were injured in 506 road accidents. Whereas in the current year, till May 31, 92 people died and 142 people were injured in 145 road accidents. The places with more accidents in the district have been identified, which include Jamia Tibbia Deoband, Sankhan Kalan Canal Deoband, Saidham Temple Deoband, Ganeshpur and Mohand National Highway, Gandevad Tiraha, Kalsia Tiraha Behat etc. The major reason for accidents is driving vehicles after drinking alcohol. Scooter and bike riders not using helmets, not using seat belts in cars and driving vehicles at high speed etc.
