Saharanpur, Under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra, a meeting was called in the Collectorate auditorium with the concerned departments in view of heat wave, drought and flood in the district and the department-wise preparations were discussed. In the meeting, District Disaster Expert Pankaj Kumar Mishra gave a presentation through PPT regarding the department's preparations to deal with heat wave, drought and flood.

District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra took information about the villages affected by the floods last year and also took information about the compensation given to the affected farmers. He directed that if any farmer's crop has been destroyed by river water, he should be compensated as per the government order. He directed that a 24×7 control room should be operated at the district level. Flood control rooms should be established in all four tehsils of the district. Flood posts should be established near flood sensitive villages and employees should be put on 24-hour duty. Shelter homes should be identified in every flood affected area to keep flood affected people at a safe place. Sensitive villages should be identified in each tehsil in the district in advance on the basis of past experience. During floods, boats should be selected for the transportation of flood affected people. Dr. Dinesh Chandra directed the medical department to keep anti-snake venom and chlorine medicines at every primary health center and community health center. He said that Aapda Mitras have been selected in every tehsil who are capable of dealing with any disaster. These Aapda Mitras will ensure to help people at the local level when needed. These Aapda Mitras have been trained in collaboration with SDRF Lucknow. In view of the floods, instructions were given to update the data of divers and swimmers in every tehsil. In view of floods, a safe place should be selected in every tehsil for landing helicopters.
In view of the flood, the District Magistrate directed the Animal Husbandry Department to complete the vaccination of animals. He took information from the District Supply Officer regarding purchasing flood relief material in view of the flood. Information about purchasing dignity kit for flood affected women and adolescent girls was taken from Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue. Regarding the flood action plan, the District Magistrate directed all the departments to prepare the flood action plan of their department and make it available to the district disaster expert on time. In the meeting, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Administration Dr. Archana Dwivedi, District Disaster Expert Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Executive Director Yamuna Link and Flood Coordination Officer Subhash Chandra, Executive Engineer Abhimanyu Kumar Rai Singh, Yogesh Kumar from Additional Irrigation Division were present. Executive Engineer Jal Nigam, Deputy District Magistrate Nakud Sangeeta Raghav, Deputy District Magistrate Rampur Surendra Kumar, Deputy District Magistrate Deoband Ankur Verma, Tehsildar Nakud Jasmendra Singh, Deputy Director Agriculture Shri Rakesh Kumar, District Panchayat Raj Officer Alok Kumar, Food and Logistics Officer Manish Singh and others concerned. Officials and officials from all development blocks and municipality, nagar panchayat were present.
