Saharanpur. A massive explosion took place in a licensed firecracker factory in Jadauda Jatt village of Deoband Kotwali area today at around 6:30 am. The sound of the explosion created a huge commotion there. After this, a large number of people gathered at the spot. As soon as the information was received, the local police reached the spot and later top police-administrative officers and forensic team of Saharanpur also reached the spot. District Magistrate Manish Bansal, who reached the spot, told the journalists that three people operating the factory have been taken into custody. Three people have died in the explosion. These include Rahul Kumar son of Ramkumar (25) resident of village Fatehpur, Vishal son of Sandeep Kumar (22) village Gunarsa, Vikas son of Rajbal (20) resident of Jadodajatta. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem. It is being told that the explosion blew people to pieces.
The people of the nearby village, enraged by the incident, blocked the highway. Police and administrative officials are trying to pacify the people. It is being told that the factory was operating in the name of Eagle Fire Works. It was being run by three people. District Magistrate Manish Bansal said that the factory had a license for firecrackers. What kind of firecrackers were actually being manufactured there. That will be known after forensic team and investigation.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known. Which is being investigated. District Magistrate Saharanpur Manish Bansal, SSP Saharanpur Rohit Kumar Sajwan, ADM Administration Dr. Archana Dwivedi, ADM Finance and Revenue Rajneesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Fire Officer, SDM Deoband Yuvraj Singh, CO Deoband Ravikant Parashar, Deoband Kotwali in-charge Dharmendra Kumar Sonkar are present on the spot.
