A delegation of farmers led by BKU national president Bhagat Singh Verma handed over a memorandum to the divisional commissioner regarding various problems
The struggle will continue till the problems of the farmers are solved: Bhagat Singh Verma
Saharanpur. A delegation of farmers led by Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma and West Pradesh Mukti Morcha national president Bhagat Singh Verma met divisional commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod regarding the problems of the farmers and handed over a memorandum to him. National president Bhagat Singh Verma, while talking to the divisional commissioner, said that about Rs 700 crore of sugarcane payment of last year and Rs 1600 crore of interest on delayed sugarcane payment in previous years is still outstanding on the sugar mills of Saharanpur division. Which should be given to the sugarcane farmers immediately. According to the Sugar Control Order 1966, the sugar mills which do not pay the sugarcane farmers within 14 days should pay interest to the sugarcane farmers at the rate of 15% per annum and the sugar mills with outstanding sugarcane payment and outstanding interest do not have the right to deduct dues rent from the sugarcane farmers as per the Act. Bhagat Singh Verma said that the BJP's Yogi government is not even paying the cost price of sugarcane of Rs 525 per quintal to the sugarcane farmers of the state. Which is sheer injustice to the sugarcane farmers of the state. Whereas the state is getting alcohol from sugarcane every year and country and foreign liquor from alcohol and the state government is getting revenue of Rs 50 thousand crore in the form of excise duty from it, from this the government should deposit Rs 100 per quintal directly in the bank accounts of the sugarcane farmers of the state. Apart from this, thousands of products are made from alcohol, from which the state and central government receive thousands of crores of rupees of tax every year in the form of GST. Despite all this, the Yogi government of BJP is not able to get the sugar mills to pay the sugarcane farmers of the state on time, which is much less than the cost price, even Rs 370 per quintal. Stray and stray animals are destroying the crops of the farmers, which should be immediately sent to the cowshed. The interest of Rs 73 crore on the delayed sugarcane payment made by the Triveni Sugar Mill of Deoband in the past years should be immediately given to the sugarcane farmers and about 300 bighas of land purchased by Triveni Sugar Mill from the farmers in Ganganoli should be returned to the farmers of Ganganoli. This land was purchased by Triveni Sugar Mill to set up a new sugar factory in Ganguli Nagal. Triveni Sugar Mill is neither doing farming on it nor has set up any factory, which is against the rules of law, otherwise the government should acquire it in the government account. Along with the highway and railway corridor in Saharanpur division, a way should be provided for farming in the land of those who have not yet been able to do so. Bhagat Singh Verma said that the maximum number of toll plazas are installed on the highways of Saharanpur division in Uttar Pradesh and the country and the maximum toll tax is being collected here and there are many toll taxes within a radius of 60 km, whereas there should be only one toll tax within a radius of 60 km, therefore all toll taxes should be abolished and the general public should be given relief from toll tax. Otherwise, Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma and West Pradesh Mukti Morcha will be forced to launch a big movement. The delegation included Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma's national spokesperson Dr Ashok Malik, state vice-president Pandit Neeraj Kapil, state general secretary Asim Malik, state organization minister Dharamveer Chaudhary, state secretary Sandeep Advocate, metropolitan president Mohammad Zaheer Turki, divisional vice-president Kripal Singh Chaudhary, district organization minister Surendra Singh Advocate, city minister Tamrez Alam, city vice-president Mansoor Ali, organization minister Aslam Malik, Haji Suleman, Haji Sajid, Haji Budhu Hasan, district vice-president Arvind Chaudhary.
