Mahakumbh Nagar, To speed up the development of the state, the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved various important projects by holding a cabinet meeting at the Triveni Ghat in Mahakumbh. In this historic meeting of the Council of Ministers, under the 'Master Plan' approved to pave the way for development to various districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, two new regions will be created on the lines of the State Capital Region, while two new link expressways and two big bridges will also be constructed on the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave information about these important decisions to the media after the cabinet meeting held in Mahakumbh Nagar on Wednesday. On this occasion, all the members of the Council of Ministers including both the Deputy CMs of the state, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were present.

The Chief Minister said that on the auspicious occasion of Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj after a gap of 144 years, an important meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in Maha Kumbh Nagar. Various important proposals have been approved in this. He informed that in the cabinet meeting, several projects were approved to strengthen the infrastructure and accelerate economic development in Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Chandauli and Sonbhadra.

Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region approved

The Chief Minister informed that the proposal to develop Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region on the lines of State Capital Region (SCR) has been approved. This region will be important from religious, cultural and tourism point of view and will create new employment opportunities.

Emphasis on Varanasi-Vindhya Development Region

The Chief Minister informed that in the meeting, the proposal has been approved giving priority to the development of Varanasi-Vindhya Development Region. Special schemes will be worked out to make this region a center of religious tourism, cultural heritage and economic activities. The Chief Minister said that all these projects will strengthen the infrastructure of the state and take economic, social and cultural development to new heights.

Expansion of Ganga Expressway

He informed that Ganga Expressway will be extended from Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Chandauli and Ghazipur. This new link expressway will also be connected to Purvanchal Expressway, which will further strengthen regional connectivity. Apart from this, a new link expressway will be built to connect Varanasi, Chandauli and Sonbhadra. Both these projects will be developed as 'Prayagraj-Vindhya-Kashi Expressway'.

Construction of new bridges and bridges

CM Yogi said that the proposal to build a new six-lane bridge parallel to the Signature Bridge on the Yamuna river has been approved. Along with this, a four-lane bridge has been approved between Salori-Hetapatti-Jhunsi, which will connect Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Azamgarh and Gorakhpur. The proposal to connect Bundelkhand Expressway to Ganga Expressway has also been approved. Also, the action plan for connectivity with Rewa National Highway has been approved.

- Approval of proposal regarding establishment of Prosecution Directorate under Section 20 of Indian Civil Defense Code 2023

- Approval regarding issuance of Municipal Bonds for Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, Varanasi Municipal Corporation and Agra Municipal Corporation and approval for providing funds for Credit Rating Enhancement from Infrastructure Development Fund

- Approval of proposal regarding upgradation of 62 Government Industrial Training Institutes of the state and establishment of 5 Centers for Innovation, Invention, Incubation and Training with the cooperation of Tata Technology Limited

- Approval of proposal regarding selection of successful bidder for running medical colleges on PPP mode under Viability Gap Funding of Government of India in unserved districts Hathras, Baghpat and Kasganj of the state

- Medical Education Department to transfer 166 bedded Government Joint Hospital Balrampur for establishment of Autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur Approval of the proposal for free transfer in favor of and conversion of KGMU's satellite center being set up in Balrampur district into Autonomous State Medical College, Balrampur

- Approval of proposal regarding final bid document under the scheme for free distribution of smartphones under Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana
