Nabha, December 6: Punjab Finance and Planning Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Minister for Employment Generation, New and Renewable Energy Sources, Governance Reforms and Grievance Redressal and Printing and Stationery Department and State President of Aam Aadmi Party Mr. Aman Arora today paid tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, on the occasion of Mahanirvan Diwas at Dr. Ambedkar's memorial located at Patiala Gate in Nabha. Both the leaders said that Dr. Ambedkar uplifted the oppressed people economically and socially by giving them constitutional rights. For which we should follow in his footsteps.

On this occasion, in an informal conversation with journalists, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and AAP State President Aman Arora said in one voice that the Central Government is trying every possible way to snatch away the freedom given by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, which the Punjab Government and Aam Aadmi Party will not tolerate. He said that the Central Government is creating obstacles on the way to Haryana to stop the farmers from going to their capital Delhi, which is condemnable.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora said that farmers are also a part of this country and their demands are legitimate, so the Center should hold a meeting with the farmers and resolve it immediately, as these demands are related to the Central Government. He condemned the oppression being done on the farmers by the Central Government and said that it is illegal to stop the farmers from going to Delhi for their demands.

Responding to a question, Aman Arora said that the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal was unfortunate but the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was committed that no mischievous element would be allowed to flourish. He said that Punjabis should not worry as Punjab was in safe and strong hands and no nefarious act would be spared and attempts to push Punjab into a dark phase would never be tolerated.

Responding to a separate question, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the economic condition of Punjab was strong and the Punjab government had reduced the lending rate and the state government had also set a new record by purchasing private thermal power plants. The Finance Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had fulfilled four out of five guarantees given to the people and the remaining one guarantee would also be fulfilled soon. There was peace in the state, as a result of which an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore had been made in the industrial sector in the state.

District Planning Committee Chairman Jassi Sohianwala and SDM Dr Ismat Vijay Singh were also present on the occasion.
