New Delhi. South actor Srikanth's name has come up in the drugs case. Nungambakkam police has arrested him and now he is being questioned. This investigation started when a former AIADMK member was arrested on charges of drug trafficking. During interrogation, Prasad had confessed to supplying drugs to Srikanth as well. At present the investigation is still going on.

Srikanth is accused of buying drugs from Prasad, who was expelled from AIADMK, and consuming them. After this, Chennai Police arrested Srikanth. During the investigation, it was revealed that the arrested Pradeep Kumar was selling drugs to former AIADMK official Prasad. Further interrogation by the police also revealed that these drugs were being procured from a Nigerian citizen living in Bengaluru.

How did Srikanth's name come up?

When Srikanth's name cropped up during the interrogation of the AIADMK functionary, the police are now investigating him as well. According to a report by One India, Prasad, an AIADMK IT wing member from Mylapore, was arrested last month in Chennai's Nungambakkam area along with another party functionary Ajay Wandair and notorious goon Sunami Sethupathi for allegedly brawling at a private bar.

Soon after this, Prasad faced more legal troubles when complaints were filed against him for duping several people by promising them government jobs. Three separate cases were registered against him at the Nungambakkam and Mylapore police stations. Investigations were also launched against Prasad for allegedly consuming drugs. The police are actively investigating the case to find out where he procured the drugs and who else was given the drugs.

Srikanth did not issue a statement

Srikanth and his team have not yet made any official statement on the drug-related allegations. The police investigation is still on and more information will be shared only after the medical test reports are received. According to sources, this is part of a larger crackdown on drug use in the film industry. Officials say that they will not reach any conclusion until all medical and legal procedures are completed.
