Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans (GT), eyeing the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 38 runs to take second place in the points table. This was his 10th match this season, in which he won for the 7th time. For the Titans, who came to bat first after losing the toss, their top 3 batsmen once again played an important role in scoring runs.

Sai Sudarshan (48), captain Shubman Gill (76) and Jos Buttler (64) hit excellent half-centuries, thanks to which Gujarat scored 224 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Sunrisers fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat took 3 wickets in the last over of the innings but by then it was too late.

Chasing a target of 225 runs, Sunrisers got off to a quick start with Travis Head (20) and Abhishek Sharma (74). But in the 5th over, Travis Head had to return to the pavilion on a brilliant catch by Rashid Khan. This wicket was registered in the name of Prasidh Krishna. After this, Ishan Kishan was seen struggling once again and he was out after scoring 13 runs in a 17-ball innings without hitting any boundary.

Heinrich Klaasen (23) and Abhishek Sharma shared a 57-run partnership for the third wicket. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma was trying to score runs fast from one end but he did not get the kind of support from the other end that the team needed. Abhishek Sharma did score a quick fifty but he became the victim of Ishant Sharma on a personal score of 74. He was out in the 15th over of the innings. After this, Gujarat took control of the match and kept taking wickets at regular intervals. In the end, the Sunrisers team could only score 186 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

This is their 7th defeat in 10 matches and they remain at the 9th position in the points table. Hyderabad still has a chance to reach the playoffs if they want, while the Rajasthan Royals team above them at the 8th position has already been eliminated from the playoff race. The Sunrisers team will now take on Delhi Capitals on Sunday.
