Bus carrying BSF jawans falls into ditch in Budgam
4 jawans killed, 36 injured
Budgam: A major accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. According to reports, 4 Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed and 36 others injured when a bus on election duty slipped off a mountain road and fell into a ditch in Brail Waterheel area of Budgam district in central Kashmir. Six are said to be seriously injured.
According to reports, a joint rescue operation by SDRF Budgam and other agencies is underway. So far 4 bodies have been recovered and 36 injured BSF personnel have been rescued. The injured have been shifted to District Hospital Budgam for further treatment.
At present, the rescue operation is underway and medical teams have been sent to the accident site to provide immediate treatment to the injured. At the same time, officials are investigating the cause of the accident. According to initial information, local people are present at the site of the incident. Apart from 35 BSF jawans, the bus driver was also injured in the accident. The driver is said to be a common citizen.
