A major accident has taken place in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. An Indian Army vehicle has fallen into a deep ditch in the Balnoi area of ​​​​Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district. 5 soldiers lost their lives in this incident, while many soldiers are reported to be injured.

The accident occurred when the vehicle of 11 Madras Light Infantry (11 MLI) was going from Neelam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora post. According to reports, the vehicle fell into a ditch about 350 feet deep near its destination. On receiving the information, the quick reaction team of 11 MLI reached the spot to carry out the rescue operation. Immediate medical assistance was provided to the injured personnel, and efforts are on to evacuate them for advanced treatment.

In a similar accident last month, an Army jawan was killed and another injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. Naik Badri Lal and Sepoy Jai Prakash were seriously injured in the accident near Badog village in Kalakote on November 4 and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, Lal succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

On November 2 too, three people, including a woman and her 10-month-old son, were killed and three others were seriously injured when their car skidded off a hilly road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.
