Katni, There was a stir in Katni river under Katni's Kotwali police station area when a youth who had come to catch fish got swept away in the strong current. Fortunately, the drifting youth caught hold of a tree in the middle of the river and saved his life by climbing on it.

Katni police station in-charge Ajay Singh Bahadur said that the youth who was standing on a tree in the middle of Katni river and was rescued has been identified as Pankaj Kumar Chaudhary who had entered the river to catch fish. During this, his foot slipped and he started drifting. Despite the strong current, he somehow reached a tree in the middle of the river and climbed on it and waited for help. As soon as the information was received, the Kotwali police and divers team reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The divers showed promptness and took the youth out safely.
