Patna, Bihar Police's new initiative for women's safety will provide security to women throughout the journey under the Safe Travel Facility Scheme. Bihar Police's Safe Travel Facility has been launched today by DGP Alok Raj. DGP said that this facility has been started today in Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Begusarai and Nalanda, but from September 15 this month, this facility will start being available to women of all districts in entire Bihar.

After launching the ERSS facility, DGP Alok Raj also inspected the control room of Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) from where this facility is being provided to women. DGP and ERSS SP Sheila Irani told how women can take advantage of this facility. According to Sheela Irani, first of all you have to call on dial 112. After this you have to give complete information about yourself that who you are, where you are from and where you have to go. Give the number of the auto or vehicle in which you are travelling and if possible, the details of the driver also from your mobile number. SP Sheela Irani further told that after this you will get a secret code ERSS i.e. dial 112. After this you will be contacted by dial 112 every fifteen minutes and you will be asked whether your journey is safe or not… If you answer no, then immediately the policemen on duty in dial 112 deployed on that route will be sent to you and the problems faced during your journey will be understood. In this, if someone is following you or the driver of your vehicle is doing something wrong, then immediately he will be arrested and legal action will be taken. If you did not face any problem during your journey and you reached your destination safely, then you will have to inform about it to dial 112. Here, DGP Alok Raj praised ERSS SP Sheela Irani for successfully launching this new facility in a very short time. DGP Alok Raj said that this lady officer of mine has taken up the responsibility of women's safety with full strength, this is a matter of pride for us.
