Katni, In the Vijayraghavgarh police station area of ​​Katni, a man posing as a journalist raped a married woman after finding her alone. The victim and her husband have lodged a complaint at the Women's Police Station. As the incident occurred in the Vijayraghavgarh constituency, MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak has stepped forward to support the victim's family and has demanded that the accused, Prashant 'Shera' Mishra, surrender to the police within 24 hours.
According to the victim and her family, the accused, Shera Mishra, had been harassing her persistently for the past two months. He would repeatedly make video calls to her mobile phone and exert constant mental pressure on her to engage in conversation. Throughout this period, the victim remained distressed and frightened by his actions; he would harass her whenever her husband was away. She was left deeply traumatized following the incident. When her husband returned on June 25, she gathered the courage to recount her ordeal. It is alleged that even after the incident, the accused continued to threaten and intimidate the victim and her family to prevent them from approaching the police. Despite this, the couple showed great courage and sought justice by approaching the police. Kamal Maurya, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Katni, stated that a rape case involving a woman has been reported from the Vijayraghavgarh police station area. A 'Zero FIR' has been registered against the accused, Prashant alias Shera Mishra, at the Katni Women's Police Station, and the case file is being transferred to the Vijayraghavgarh police station. Based on the woman's complaint, the Women's Police Station has registered a case against the accused, Shera Mishra, under the following sections: Section 64(1) (Rape), Section 78(2) (Stalking/harassment via electronic means), Sections 332-B/351(3) (Forcible entry into a house and criminal intimidation), and Section 296-B.

Since the incident occurred in the Salaiya area, the police initially registered a 'Zero FIR'. The case file is now being forwarded to the concerned Vijayraghavgarh police station, where further investigation will be conducted and efforts to arrest the accused will commence.

As the incident falls within the Vijayraghavgarh constituency, MLA Sanjay Satyendra Pathak met the victim's family and assured them of justice; he also called upon the accused, Prashant 'Shera' Mishra, via social media to surrender to the police within 24 hours.
