Wife broke the relationship as soon as he became MLA
Husband's pain overflowed on infidelity, also demanded alimony
The marital dispute between former BJP MLA Sona Bai Ahirwal from Pathariya assembly seat of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh and her disabled husband Sevak Ram Ahirwal has now reached the court. The husband alleges that he worked day and night to take his wife to the top in politics, but now the same wife is adamant on breaking the relationship with him. The husband has also demanded alimony.
Behavior changed after becoming MLA
Sevak Ram Ahirwal says that when his wife Sona Bai expressed her desire to step into politics, he supported her wholeheartedly. From Damoh to Bhopal and Delhi, Sevak Ram left no stone unturned to connect his wife with big BJP leaders. His hard work paid off and in 2003, Sona Bai got a BJP ticket from Pathariya assembly seat. She not only won the election, but also made her mark as an MLA from 2003 to 2008. But Sevak claims that Sona Bai's behaviour changed after she became an MLA. With her proximity to big leaders and political influence increasing, she started distancing herself from her husband.
Started a new life in Sagar without divorce'
Sevak Ram told in his petition filed in the court that after Sona Bai's term ended in 2008, the Pathariya seat became unreserved, due to which she did not get a ticket again. But even after this, Sona Bai maintained her activism in politics. Sevak alleges that in 2009 his wife left him without giving divorce and started living in a new house in Sagar. According to Sevak, Sona Bai has land, property and vehicles, and as a former MLA, she is also getting a government pension. On the other hand, Sevak, who is unable to do manual labour due to disability, is facing financial crisis.
Demand for alimony
Sevak Ram has filed an application in the Family Court demanding alimony of Rs 25,000 every month. According to her lawyer Nitin Mishra, the court has accepted her plea and soon Sona Bai will be summoned by issuing a notice. Now the arguments of both the parties will be heard in this case, after which the court will give its verdict. However, Sona Bai has not yet made any public statement on this matter and she is avoiding appearing in front of the media.
