Saharanpur. 99 centers have been created for government procurement of wheat in Saharanpur district. These include Food Department, PCF, PCU and Food Corporation of India. This time the purchasing centers have been opened 15 days in advance while wheat harvesting has not even started yet. Every year, government procurement of wheat started from April 1st. This time too, wheat is likely to be procured in the first-second week of April. This time the government has declared the minimum support price of wheat at Rs 2275. Last time, much less wheat could be purchased than the target. The price of wheat in the market is higher than the government support price and the price of wheat flour in the market is Rs 4000 per quintal. Wheat weighing stations have been established but have been lying deserted since March 15.
