After 75 years of this, today most of the citizens of the country are not aware. In this Sengol played an important role. This Sengol became a symbol of the transfer of power. After this it was decided to put it in front of the country.
For Sengol, there is no place more sacred than Parliament House: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that it is unfair to keep this sacred Sengol in the museum. There can be no more appropriate, holy and suitable place than the Parliament House for Sengol's residence. That is why on the day of dedication to the nation of the Parliament House, our Prime Minister will humbly accept Sengol through the Tamil Nadu Act.
Sengol will be installed near the speaker's seat
Amit Shah told that when Lord Mountbatten had asked Pandit Nehru about the process of transfer of power, C Rajagopalachari had told about the tradition of Sengol. In this way the process of Sangol was decided. After this the holy Sengol was brought from Tamil Nadu. Union Home Minister Amit Shah told that when the Parliament House is dedicated to the country, only then PM Modi will accept Sengol from Adhyanam from Tamil Nadu and install it near the speaker's seat.
The Union Home Minister said that Sengol has great importance in Indian, especially Tamil culture. He said, “Sangol has been important since the time of the Chola dynasty. This sengol will be placed in the new parliament.' He said, "This is going to be a seminal event, and it will mark the Amrit Kaal in India."

Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region G Kishan Reddy and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur were also present at the press conference. More than 1.36 lakh events have been organized under the aegis of 'Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav', including many big events like "Har Ghar Tiranga", "Vande Bharatam" and "Kalanjali".
