Parasia/Badkuhi. Under the Safe Motherhood Campaign, run under the National Health Mission, the health team at Ayushman Arogya Mandir Barkuhi demonstrated its promptness and prudence, providing a timely, safe, institutional delivery to a high-risk pregnant woman, saving the lives of both the mother and the newborn.

The pregnant woman had her first delivery by cesarean section and was also suffering from anemia. The health department team provided regular health checkups, ongoing counseling, and iron sucrose treatment throughout the pregnancy. When labor pains began, the family was in favor of a normal home delivery, but the health team informed them of the potential risks and encouraged an institutional delivery.

At the initiative of the health team, the woman was initially taken to Civil Hospital Parasia via 108 ambulance. After a medical examination, she was referred to Chhindwara District Hospital, where a safe cesarean delivery was performed under the supervision of specialist doctors. Both mother and newborn are currently healthy.

Under the guidance of BMO Dr. Ankit Sahlam, BPM Anup Sahu, BCM Radhika Bhalavi, BEE Rajneesh Sahu, Sector Supervisor Vishal Lautre, CHO Reenu Sahu, ANM Elisha Timothy, and ASHA worker Prachi Mehangia played a key role in this commendable effort. The Health Department has described this as an inspiring success of the Safe Motherhood Campaign.
