Motihari, Crores of rupees sent for benches and desks in government schools of East Champaran (Motihari) have been swindled. A big game was played at the level of the District Education Officer's office. When the ruling MLAs exposed the corruption in front of the Education Minister, he too was stunned. An inquiry has been ordered. Seeing himself cornered, now the District Education Officer has also started admitting that there has been a big irregularity in the supply of benches and desks. The news came in the media, the ruling MLAs lodged objections, after which the formality of investigation has started. The District Education Office has accepted that three vendors did not supply benches and desks as per the standard. Hence, a penalty has been imposed on them. Also, those three vendors have been excluded from the purchase of benches and desks.

Three vendors were excluded...punished too

The District Education Officer Office, Motihari has written a letter to all the principals in this regard. It has been said that bench desks should not be taken from the three vendors. In this regard, the District Program Officer (Establishment) has issued a letter today on 20th July. It has been said in the letter that bench desks are to be purchased in government schools in the financial year 2024-25. In this light, an order was issued on 18th May to purchase bench desks from the suppliers. During the inspection of the benches and desks supplied to the schools, irregularities were found, three agencies (Dheeraj Enterprises Turkaulia, Shinni Enterprises Areraj and Adarsh Enterprises Areraj) were asked for clarification for not supplying as per the standard. After this, a penalty has been imposed on them. In such a situation, do not purchase any kind of bench-desk from these three agencies (Dheeraj Enterprises, Shinni Enterprises and Adarsh Enterprises). If you do so, then the entire responsibility of its payment will be of the concerned school principal.

Seeing himself in trouble, the computer operator was thrown out!

The District Education Officer Office Motihari has issued an order on 16 July. In which it is said that in the light of the decision of the District Executive Committee Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan East Champaran, Divesh Kumar (Data Entry Operator) has been working on the basis of daily wages since 8 March 2008. At present, there is availability of data entry operator in the office, alternative arrangement has been made. Due to this, Divesh Kumar is no longer required. In such a situation, Divesh Kumar's service will not be taken from the date of issuance of the letter. Why did the DEO office suddenly remove Divesh Kumar? Were there no computer operators before the 16th? Suddenly the operator became available? If Divesh Kumar was doing some other work while being a computer operator, then was the DEO informed about it? Who was not aware of this? Many complaints were received, then why did the DEO-DPO (Establishment) not take action? Why has the need to take action arisen now? Actually, there is a big game behind this. Departmental sources are telling that till the end, the DPO Establishment was trying to save him.

When will action be taken against the officers who took advantage?

Many questions are being raised due to this order of the District Education Officer of East Champaran. It is also being said that the computer operator was just a pawn, the officers were taking the advantage. That is why they were not ready to remove him. After the strict stand of the District Magistrate, Divesh Kumar has finally been relieved from his duties. What will happen next, will action be taken against the responsible officers as well? Because a worker who does daily hard work cannot be so powerful. How was he working till now without the consent of the officer? Let us tell you, crores of rupees sent for benches-desks and other development works in government schools in East Champaran district have been distributed arbitrarily. The responsible officers have distributed the money by giving work to a special person. It is being said that former and present officers of the district are involved in this. The ruling MLAs have also complained to the Education Minister. Investigation orders have also been issued, but the result is zero.
