Jaipur. Air travel from Jaipur International Airport is now going to be expensive. The airport administration has made preparations to double the UDF tax levied on passengers. It is collected as UDF i.e. User Development Fee. At present, Rs 465 is charged as UDF tax from every passenger flying from Jaipur airport. But now preparations are being made to increase this amount to Rs 910. Almost doubling of UDF will increase the problems of air passengers.

Airfare is already expensive and now UDF charge will also be added double to it. The big thing is that not only the UDF tax will increase from the passengers departing from Jaipur, but UDF will also be collected from the arriving passengers. No tax is charged from arrival passengers at most airports in the country. The reason behind this is that the arriving passengers do not use any kind of facility at the airport, rather they leave the airport as soon as they land. Preparations are being made to collect tax from arrival passengers at Jaipur Airport from June 1.

Currently this charge is levied
Currently there is tax on air fare. User development fee of Rs 465 is collected in the name of development works at the airport. Aviation security fee of Rs 236 is charged in the name of CISF security check. Rs 50 is charged for Common Use Terminal Equipment Fee (CUTE) and Rs 50 is charged in the name of Regional Connectivity Scheme.

Preparation for changes in UDF from June 1
UDF charge for domestic passengers going from Jaipur will be Rs 910. Whereas for international passengers going from Jaipur, this charge will be Rs 1260. UDF charge for domestic passengers coming to Jaipur will be Rs 390 and for international passengers coming to Jaipur, UDF charge will be Rs 540. Whether there will be any reduction in this or not will be revealed later.

UDF will be increased every year
It is not that the airport administration is preparing to increase these fees only this year, but Jaipur International Airport has demanded increase in fees every year in the proposal given to the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority. According to the proposal given till March 31, 2027, UDF will be increased every year in this 3-year plan. However, whether the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority approves it or not has not been decided yet.

The airport is being made world class
It is also believed that the authority may make some cuts in these rates. The airport administration has given only this information in this regard that construction work is going on continuously at Jaipur Airport. This includes everything from runway to elevated road and apron-way. The airport is being made world class. Due to this, UDF is being increased.

Jaipur has now slipped down from tenth place
It is noteworthy that Jaipur Airport, which was once in the top three in terms of service and facilities, has now fallen below the 10th position. Currently Jaipur Airport is the most expensive airport in Rajasthan. This is the only international airport in Rajasthan. Now the facilities here are becoming less and the service is becoming less while it is becoming more expensive. Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Kishangarh airports are small. Only domestic flights fly here.
