CPRO South Western Railway said that train number 12578 Mysore-Darbhanga Express collided with a freight train from behind at Kavarappettai railway station in Chennai-Gudur section between Ponneri-Kavarappettai railway stations (46 km from Chennai) of Chennai division at around 8.30 am. A total of 12-13 coaches have derailed. There is no report of any casualty so far. All the injured passengers have been taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Movement of trains in both directions is closed.
According to the information, Mysore-Darbhanga Express has derailed near Kavarapettai railway station of Chennai division, 6 coaches derailed from the train engine, no casualties, some people are injured.
