Chamba. Four people lost their lives in a tragic road accident late Saturday night in the Churah subdivision of Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district. An Alto K-10 car lost control and plunged into a deep gorge on the Nakrod-Himgiri Dam site road. The crash was so severe that the car was mangled, and all its occupants died on the spot.

According to reports, the Alto car (registration number HP44A-0494) fell into a deep gorge near the Bairasiul River. The vehicle was completely wrecked, and the bodies of the deceased were found scattered over a wide area at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that all the occupants succumbed to their injuries instantly.

Occupants Were Returning from a Wedding
Police stated that the occupants were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred. Upon receiving news of the crash, local villagers rushed to the site and began relief and rescue operations. Authorities, including the police and fire department, were subsequently informed.

Identities of the Deceased Confirmed
The administration has identified the four individuals who lost their lives in the accident. The deceased are:

Shukardin (52), son of Shak Mohammad; resident of Village Karmund, Post Office Tikrigarh, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba.

Salman (25), son of Taj Mohammad; resident of Village Karmund, Post Office Tikrigarh, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba.

Tashi alias Bittu (41), son of Kishan Chand; resident of Village Karmund, Post Office Tikrigarh, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba.

Sanju (22), son of Khem Raj; resident of Village Karmund, Post Office Tikrigarh, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba.

Police and Administration Initiate Investigation
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team led by the SHO of Tissa was dispatched to the scene. Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani stated that relief and rescue operations were carried out with the assistance of the police, the fire department, and local villagers; the bodies have been recovered, and legal formalities are currently underway.

He added that a detailed investigation is being conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the vehicle went out of control and plunged into a gorge, though the police are examining all aspects of the incident.
