Shajapur, ten-day long festival of martyrdom Moharram concluded on Wednesday with the procession of Duldul-Burraq and Tazias. It is worth mentioning that with the beginning of Moharram, the Muslim community started reciting Durood and Fateha along with giving milk and sherbet in the memory of martyrs of Karbala. Along with this, langar was also distributed in the name of Aaka Hussain in the streets and mohallas for ten days. While taking out the procession of Duldul and Burraq along with the Akharas in the city, the enthusiastic youth of the Akharas performed stunts in front of the Tazias, symbolically challenging the cruel ruler Yazid Palit. On the tenth day of Muharram, the people of the community celebrated Yom-e-Ashura and on this day the prayers of Ashura were offered. Also, remembering the thirsty martyrs of Karbala, people were served Sabil at various places and Haleem was distributed among the devotees after reciting Fateha.
Naal Saheb's procession took place on the ninth night
On the ninth day of Muharram, Tuesday, Naal Saheb's procession torch procession was taken out in the city at night. Naal Saheb's procession torch procession started from Pinjarwadi area at around 10.30 pm, which passed through various routes of the city. During the procession, the youth of the community were raising slogans of Ya Hussain. At the same time, the youth were walking ahead with torches in their hands. To maintain security, the police force was walking along with the procession. Naal Saheb, who was tied in chains, was saluted in front of Duldul in Hussaini Chowk. On Wednesday, the 10th day of Muharram, as per tradition, a procession of Zarki Burraq along with other big and small Duldul and Tazias was taken out in the city. On this day, the Warsi family followed the old tradition and tied money in coconuts and distributed them. Thousands of people gathered to loot them. The procession started at 11 o'clock in the night, in which Akharas, Duldul, Tazias were taken out from all the localities of the city. After this, the Tazias were cooled down at 5 in the morning and with this the Moharram festival ended.
