Saharanpur, Dastak campaign is going on in Saharanpur district since April 10. In which till now 3129 teams of the Health Department have knocked at 2,71,100 houses. During this period, 137 malnourished children along with fever were identified. Of these, 13 severely malnourished children were admitted to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) located in the district hospital. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Manglik said that the Dastak campaign is being run till April 30. Till April 19, 930 mother meetings and 1188 chlorination demos were conducted to purify water. 90 fever patients were identified. For awareness, 2592 morning marches, 876 village heads meetings, 2730 drains were cleaned. The Municipal Corporation is getting the drains cleaned and fogged in 70 wards daily as per the roster. 137 malnourished children were identified by the Women and Child Development Department, out of which 13 severely malnourished children were admitted to the NRC. The Animal Husbandry Department organized a meeting of 1951 pig farmers. The Agriculture Department held 653 meetings for the prevention of rats and moles. District Malaria Officer Shivanka Gaur said that so far 38,998 Abha IDs have been created under the Dastak campaign. He said that the main cause of malaria, dengue and diarrhea is filth and contaminated waterlogging. The real root of all infectious diseases are mosquitoes and mosquitoes breed in dirty places only. He asked people not to allow water to accumulate in coolers for long periods of time.
