This agony of PM Narendra Modi came to the fore in the Council of Ministers meeting
PM said… the country will not move forward with such an attitude
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep disappointment over the current politics being just election-centric. He bluntly said that he is not fit for this politics which keeps the country on the second rung. PM Modi said, I did not enter politics to win or lose elections. In my view, politics means the progress of the country.
This agony of PM Narendra Modi came to the fore in the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday. In the meeting which lasted for about five hours, PM Modi said that the current politics bores him. That is because the politics of the country has remained focused only on winning or losing the elections. Policies and programs are made keeping elections in mind. The country is far behind in the priority of current politics. I do not feel comfortable in this politics.
Question on bureaucracy...the country will not move forward with such an attitude
PM Modi also raised questions on the attitude of the bureaucracy. He said that during their career the bureaucrats only remember the end of the financial year and the year of selection in the Indian Administrative Service. For the plan which can be completed ahead of time, wait for the financial year to end. The year of selection is remembered so that they get promotion according to the years spent in service. The country is not going to progress with such an attitude.
Gear up for a developed India
The PM said that the goal of making the country developed by the year 2047 is not an election slogan. Preparation has to be started for how the country will develop in 25 years. I wish that a committee should be formed under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah, so that work can be done expeditiously to achieve the goal.
