Purnia, The person who threatened Purnia MP Pappu Yadav in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi has been arrested by the police from Delhi. Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma said that a person named Mahesh Pandey has been arrested. The accused caught from Delhi has accepted his crime and he is a resident of Delhi. The accused has also worked in the canteen of AIIMS and Ministry of Defense.

The accused is not associated with any gang

Purnia SP said that Mahesh Pandey has nothing to do with any gang. He has worked with some big leaders earlier also. Mahesh hatched a conspiracy to threaten the MP from the SIM of his sister-in-law living in UAE. The SP said that more revelations will be made in this case soon. He said that Mahesh Pandey has been arrested from Delhi.

Mobile phone and SIM card also seized

The police said that the motive behind threatening to kill Pappu Yadav is being investigated. The police also seized the mobile phone and SIM card, which was used to threaten the MP with death.

Pappu Yadav had recently received threats

On October 28, MP Pappu Yadav claimed that he had received death threats on phone in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. After the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai, Pappu Yadav had said on X that if the law allowed, he would finish off Bishnoi's entire network within 24 hours. After this he started receiving threats on the phone. He also filed a case in this regard.

Later he wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding increased security. It claimed that he had received a threatening call from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Apart from seeking upgradation of his 'Y' category security to 'Z' category, the MP had also demanded police escort at all his functions across Bihar.
