Damoh, with the completion of elections, the period of model code of conduct has ended. Jan Sunwai will start regularly from next Tuesday, 11 June. It has been decided to give top priority to Jan Sunwai, this is the system where the people of the district bring their problems and complaints. If they are resolved on time, then it is a big step taken by the administration towards good governance, therefore Jan Sunwai is our big focus area, it has been decided to make it very strong. Views of this effect were expressed regarding Jan Sunwai.

From next 11 June, Jan Sunwai will run continuously from 10 am till evening. Earlier, the system was that officers from different departments used to come and sit in the Collector's office, but now, as per the instructions of the government, orders have been issued to make this arrangement that apart from the District Collector's office, officers, office heads will compulsorily conduct public hearings in the District Office and the Block Office, they will stay there and conduct public hearings sitting there. In the Collector's office, in the absence of the District Collector and the District Collector, the Additional Collector or Deputy Collector who will be authorized will conduct the public hearing. Thus, this is a big change in which the officers of the district will not have to sit here, they will sit in their office and listen to the problems of the people there itself, this will enable public hearing of the people up to the block level as per the instructions of the government and they will not have to come to the district with their problems.
Another advantage will be that for the solution of the problems of the people who come to the district with their problems, discussions can be held immediately at the block level or in other offices and the officers will be in a position to resolve them. If required, the concerned applicants can be immediately sent to the office of those officers, so that they can resolve them while staying in the office. There are some departments whose offices are spread all over the district, Rural Development, Revenue Department, Urban Development and Police have their offices at different places, one person from each of these departments has been made nodal and these four nodals will come here, consolidate the subjects related to their departments, take their papers from themselves and the coordinator will solve these problems as soon as possible.

There will be one person each from Police Department, Urban Development, Revenue Department and Rural Development. There is a login for SDM Jansunwai and every day whatever complaints will come in the public hearing at their development block or subdivision, tehsil level on SDM login, it will be the responsibility of the SDM to get all these entered from his login. All the complaints that come in the public hearing will automatically be added to the CM helpline, we will work on this type of structure. All concerned have been directed that whatever number of people come for public hearing, public hearing will be held in the block office and other offices of the district from 10 am to 1 pm, public hearing can go on for longer as per the number of beneficiaries coming to the collector's office. If there is a holiday on any Tuesday, then public hearing will be held the next day, for this people will be informed on time and all offices have been directed that whatever applicants come, other necessary arrangements including respectful seating, drinking water and other basic facilities should be ensured. Efforts will be made to resolve the problems as soon as possible and if it can be done on the spot as per eligibility, then nothing can be better than this. Public hearing should be established in the district as a very big tool of good governance and better facilities can be provided to the people. The effort is that if a person comes to Jan Sunwai once, he should not have to return to Jan Sunwai again, we should find a solution to it in this Jan Sunwai itself if it is possible to solve it, that is why this arrangement has been made.
The District Collector will sit for Jan Sunwai from morning in the Jan Sunwai room on the ground floor of the Collector's office. Till now it used to happen that people used to sit in the corridor, now instead of the corridor, chairs will be placed where the Jan Sunwai is being held, all the applicants will sit in the same room, there are drinking water, toilet and all basic facilities for them, they will be made adequate and efforts will be made to listen to each and every application carefully and give them sufficient time, hence there will be a token based system. Tokens will be given on first come first serve basis, all the people will sit patiently on their seats, wait for their turn, as soon as their token is called, they can come and present their matter before the Collector, for this their chair will be placed in front of the Collector's chair and they will be able to present their matter before the Collector.
