Kishanganj, A 17-year-old minor girl was being married in ward number 3 of Churli Panchayat under Thakurganj block of Kishanganj district. But, before the wedding procession arrived, the police administration team reached there. All the preparations for the wedding were completed in the house. In such a situation, stopping the marriage was a big challenge for the administration. With the help of local public representatives and in the presence of villagers, the girl's parents were explained. The ill effects of getting married at a young age were also told. Its legal process was also told. Then the family decided not to get the girl married. Said that the marriage will be done only after the girl turns 18. Meanwhile, an affidavit has also been filled from the girl's guardian in the presence of local public representatives.
Instructions given to stop child marriage
It is being told that the team of Jan Nirman Kendra of Kishanganj had received information about this marriage. The district project coordinator of the organization Mujahid Alam took cognizance of the matter and immediately informed the Sub-Divisional Officer cum Child Marriage Prohibition Officer. The Sub-Divisional Officer took the matter seriously and immediately formed a team and directed the Block Development Officer and Police Station President Kurlicourt to immediately stop the said child marriage.

All preparations had been done at home for the marriage.

After this, the Block Development Officer, Kurlicourt Police Station President along with the police force and the joint team of Jan Nirman Kendra reached the place of information on Tuesday night where the marriage was taking place. All the rituals of the marriage were ready. The baraatis were about to arrive in some time, the food was also ready. A pandal has also been set up at home. Relatives of the family had also arrived. After a lot of effort, the administration and police team stopped this marriage.
