Saharanpur, under Swachhata Hi Seva Fortnight, as per the instructions of Manish Bansal, District Magistrate, Chairman, District Swachhata Samiti, Swachhata Samman Ceremony was organized by District Swachhata Samiti in the auditorium located in Vikas Bhawan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October under Swachhata Hi Seva Fortnight.

As the chief guest in the Swachhata Samman Ceremony, Rajiv Gumbar, MLA, City Saharanpur honored Swachhata Mitra sanitation workers and panchayat assistants who increased public participation in the field of cleanliness. Underlining the Prime Minister's speech, he appealed that we all have to make collective efforts in the direction of cleanliness. Referring to the commendable work being done by the Government of India and the State Government in the direction of cleanliness, Mr. Gumbar said that we can make the country clean and developed only by following the path shown by the Honorable Prime Minister. Emphasising on Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, he appealed that we all should together contribute in making the district clean and healthy. Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan administered the cleanliness pledge and motivated the participants to make India a developed India. On this occasion, a painting exhibition of the best entries of the painting competition organised by District Ganga Committee and District Swachhata Samiti with the cooperation of the Secondary Education Department and Basic Education Department was also organised. Inderpal Singh, Deputy Commissioner Self Employment, Pranay Krishna PD DRDA, District Panchayat Raj Officer Alok Sharma, Swachhata Advisor Sandeep Singh, Ashish Singh, Dev Bhaskar Pandey along with other officers and employees were present in the programme.
