Raisen. A concrete road constructed at a cost of lakhs of rupees in Rahul Nagar Ward 14 of the city is now embroiled in controversy. Locals have alleged serious irregularities in the construction and questioned its quality. Residents claim that the road's concrete was not laid to the prescribed standards. At some places, the thickness is 3 to 4 inches, while at others, it is only 1.5 to 2 inches. Residents have demanded a technical investigation into the entire matter and action against the culprits.
Residents allege that Municipal Corporation contractor Satyendra Singh Chauhan acted arbitrarily and used substandard materials in the construction work. Residents say that low-quality cement, local sand, and black gravel were used in the road construction, raising questions about the road's strength.
Local residents Vinod Kumar, Mukesh Rathore, Dhansingh Bairagi, and Anil Kumar Dhakad say that no responsible municipal official or technical staff visited the site for inspection during the construction. Despite repeated complaints, quality checks were not conducted, leading the contractor to complete the work without oversight.

Incomplete Drains, Increased Problems During Rains
Residents reported that drains were also proposed to be constructed along with the road, but the contractor only constructed the road and declared the work complete. Due to the incomplete drains, there is a fear of rainwater accumulating on the road and the road deteriorating soon.
Residents say that lakhs of rupees are being spent on development projects, but if quality is compromised, it will be a waste of government funds and the public will not receive permanent services.
Sub-Engineer Says – Complaint Received, Investigation Will Be Done
Municipal Sub-Engineer Ashutosh Singh stated that complaints have been received regarding the quality of the concrete road construction in Rahul Nagar. A technical investigation will be conducted into the matter. If the construction work is found to be non-compliant, the contractor's payment will be stopped and action will be taken as per the rules.

Councilor also acknowledged the complaints
Ward 14 BJP councilor Devendra Yadav said that complaints are being received continuously regarding the quality of road construction. If the investigation reveals substandard work, action should be taken against the contractor concerned and his payment should be stopped. He stated that the complaints of the ward residents will be taken seriously and no compromise on quality will be allowed.
Now all eyes are on the Municipal Corporation's investigation and action on this road in Rahul Nagar. If the complaints are proven true, this matter could raise serious questions about the quality and monitoring system of the Municipal Corporation's construction work.
