Indore. The protests against the police action against students demonstrating at Delhi's Jantar Mantar have now resonated in Madhya Pradesh. The ongoing student protest in Indore's Bhanwarkuan area over the NEET paper leak escalated into a major protest with widespread public support on Tuesday. On the 22nd day of the protest, more than a thousand students, teachers, and citizens gathered near the Tantya Bhil statue. Meanwhile, in the capital, Bhopal's Shahpura Park, students registered their protest for the second consecutive day by holding a candlelight march.

Bhanwarkuan became the main center of the protest.

Students are continuously protesting, demanding transparency in competitive examinations, an impartial investigation into the NEET scandal, and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In the past few days, a large number of students preparing for competitive exams from Dhar, Dewas, and Khargone and surrounding districts have begun arriving at Bhanwarkuan, steadily expanding the scope of the movement.

Locals Encourage Encouragement

Local citizens and businesses also came forward to support the students at the protest site. People from nearby colonies provided water, fruits, biscuits, and home-cooked meals for the protesters. The students described this as a symbol of community trust and support.

Tribute to Deceased Students, Demand for Education Reforms Intensify

A poster was put up at the protest site in memory of 20 students who died due to exam-related stress. Two students also created a rangoli based on the image of education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk, highlighting the need for change in the education system.

PG student Sakshi Baheria said that the movement is no longer limited to a few students, but has become the voice of every aspirant who wants a fair and transparent examination system. She explained that she personally prepared and delivered food to the protest site in support of the protesters.

Meanwhile, protesting student Harsh Jain stated that this struggle is not solely for personal interests, but to safeguard the future of millions of students across the country. He added that the movement has been energized by the support of teachers and ordinary citizens.

Traffic affected, but students demonstrated responsibility

Traffic was briefly disrupted at the Bhanwarkuan intersection during the protest. However, the students themselves took charge, clearing the way for ambulances and essential vehicles. The protesters maintain that their movement is based solely on student interests and has no connection to any political party.
