Amid protests over the recovery of cash from the house of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Verma and his transfer to Allahabad High Court, a delegation of the High Court Bar Association met Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal in Delhi on Wednesday. The delegation was headed by Bar President Anil Tiwari. The delegation apprised the Union Minister about the protest of the Bar Association and the ongoing lawyers' strike here.

President Anil Tiwari said that the talks with the Law Minister were very positive. He listened to the lawyers' side with full attention and got all the points noted by his staff. Anil Tiwari said that the talks have raised hopes that the central government is serious about the problems of the lawyers of Allahabad High Court. Positive results are expected from this. Anil Tiwari especially thanked MP Praveen Patel for this meeting, due to whom this positive talk was possible.

Meanwhile, the strike of the Bar Association continued for the second day and the lawyers completely boycotted judicial work. Advocates were stopped from entering the premises in the morning itself. Many former office bearers also addressed the meeting held at Gate No. 3 of the High Court. All of them gave full support to the strike and reiterated that the decision to transfer Justice Yashwant Verma to Allahabad High Court will not be accepted under any circumstances. The office bearers and former office bearers expressed their views on various points like solving the problem of listing in the High Court, preventing relatives of judges from practising, preventing nepotism in the appointment of judges.

The general assembly meeting was conducted by General Secretary Vikrant Pandey. It was addressed by former President IK Chaturvedi, Ashok Singh and many former office bearers. Vice President Agnihotri Kumar Tripathi, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Subhash Chandra Pandey, Neeraj Tripathi, Neha Shukla, Sumit Kumar Srivastava, Abhijeet Kumar Pandey, Puneet Kumar Shukla, Anchal Ojha, Ranvijay Singh along with executive members and a large number of advocates were present in the general assembly.
