Fisheries Department should work in the interest of fish farmers by coordinating with the concerned departments

Saharanpur, A departmental review meeting was held in the Circuit House auditorium under the chairmanship of Minister, Fisheries Department Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad and in the presence of District Magistrate Manish Bansal. In the meeting, the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana, Chief Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana, Fishermen Welfare Fund, Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme, Aeration System Scheme for Intensive Fish Farming, Kisan Credit Card Scheme, Fisherman Accident Insurance Scheme, Lease of Gram Sabha ponds, status of departmental reservoirs and ponds were reviewed pointwise. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad said that fishermen who traditionally do fish farming should be promoted by giving them the benefits of the schemes. The production of the beneficiaries who are being given subsidy should also be continuously inspected by the officials. Its main objective is to promote production. The schemes being run by the government should be promoted on a large scale. For promotion in rural areas, handbills should be distributed in the Gram Sabha and information related to the schemes should be pasted in the village secretariats. He asked the Fisheries Department to coordinate with all the departments and benefit the fish farmers and related entrepreneurs. The Minister, Fisheries Department said that small fish farmers should be promoted on priority by giving them grants in the schemes. He expressed deep displeasure over not working according to the government order and promoting those without license. He said that under no circumstances should any eligible person be deprived of the benefits of the scheme. The District Magistrate should also be informed about the Revenue Code 2016 and the government orders issued from time to time by holding a meeting. The Minister took information about the staff working in the district and assured to make arrangements for it. He directed the department to coordinate with the LDM regarding the Kisan Credit Card and get the online form filled. He asked the department officials to take advantage of the experiences of the public representatives. He said that the government is making arrangements for skill development and training in the field of fisheries with a view to increasing production using technology so that more and more jobs can be created. Gave instructions to send fish farmers to other states for skill development and training. Gave instructions to the Deputy Director Fisheries to get the eligible people insured by organizing camps, give information about KCC and distribute it within 15 days. Gave instructions to the Deputy Director Fisheries to provide information about developed, semi-developed and undeveloped ponds as soon as possible. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad said that under the Fishermen Welfare Fund, the implementing agency should ensure that the work is done by taking a list from the department for solar street lights and high mask lights. He directed the Agriculture Department to link fish farmers with PM Kusum Yojana, the Irrigation Department to ensure availability of water in the ponds, the Police Department to stop the banned Thai Mangur fish in the district and asked the Food Safety Department to completely ban its sale in shops. He said that eating this fish causes fatal diseases like cancer. Gave instructions to the Electricity Department to ensure availability of electricity at places where projects have been set up to promote fish production. Gave instructions to the Chief Medical Officer to provide medical assistance to the fishermen as per the orders of the Government.
District Magistrate Manish Bansal assured to ensure strict compliance of the instructions given by the Minister. He asked the concerned officials to work with sensitivity. On this occasion, Chief Medical Officer Dr Praveen Kumar, PD DRDA Pranay Krishna, SP Traffic Siddharth Verma, Deputy Director Fisheries and other concerned officials were present.
