Shajapur, on Hartalika Teej, women on Friday kept a fast and worshipped Bhole Shankar for a happy married life and unmarried girls kept a fast with the desire to get a suitable groom. It is worth mentioning that this year also, as per every year, women kept a night-long vigil and worshipped Mata Gauri and following the tradition, worshipped Hartalika and anointed Bholenath. It is worth mentioning that on Hartalika Teej, women reached Shiva temples in the morning, dressed up and when the crowd was more, they stood in a queue and bowed to Shiva. After this, they listened to the story of Teej Mata in the temple. Women told that due to mythological beliefs, they kept a fast on Hartalika Teej and worshipped Shiv Gauri and wished for a long life of the husband and happiness and prosperity in the family. Pandit Omprakash Goswami, priest of Omkareshwar Mahadev temple, told that the worship continued from morning till late night on Hartalika Teej.
