Katni, The appeal made by Katni Collector Avi Prasad to social and voluntary organizations to cooperate in the resolution of making Katni district a malnutrition-free district by March 2024, has started showing magical effects within 24 hours. Inspired by the appeal of Collector Avi Prasad, mineral diggers and government officials on Tuesday provided a contribution amount of Rs 3 lakh 80 thousand.
During the campaign run so far in the district by Katni Collector Avi Prasad, with the participation of social organizations, great success has been achieved in getting the children of the district out of the clutches of malnutrition. As a result, the number of severely malnourished children in the district, which was 211 in April 2023, has decreased to 154 in December 2023 and the number of moderately malnourished children, which was 1318, has decreased to 1011. Thus, in a period of 9 months, there has been tremendous improvement in the nutritional level of 364 children. Collector Avi Prasad said that after the efforts made so far in the district to remove malnutrition, cooperation has been appealed to everyone to nourish the remaining one thousand malnourished children. Due to which a contribution amount of about Rs. 4.4 lakh was received on Tuesday. With this, nutritious ration will be provided to about 400 malnourished children of the district. Efforts are still going on to raise funds for the remaining 600 malnourished children. The Collector said that serious efforts are being made to free Katni from the stigma of malnutrition by March 2024. On the appeal of Collector Avi Prasad, 4 mineral diggers contributed an amount of Rs 3.5 lakh for the work of making Katni malnutrition free. Has provided. Among them, Rajendra Prasad Gupta Padrehi Bahoriband, Jagdish Prasad Urmaliya Badkhera, Shashikant Kohar Chhapra Bahoriband presented a check of Rs 1 lakh each and Arif Ahmed Sunhra Bhatgwan, a mineral digger, gave a check of Rs 50 thousand to the collector. While among the government officials, Additional Collector Sadhna Paraste, Assistant Director Women and Child Development Vanashree Kurveti and Chitra Prabhat Government Tilak College have contributed Rs 10 thousand each respectively.
