Shajapur, Shujalpur Mandi Police Station has succeeded in arresting a female accused carrying a ₹10,000 reward for serious crimes including kidnapping, rape, and the POCSO Act.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Shajapur, Mrs. Priyanka Shukla, a continuous campaign is being launched to arrest absconding accused of serious crimes. In this regard, a special team was formed under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ghanshyam Malviya, and under the guidance of Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Shujalpur, Mr. Nimesh Deshmukh, led by Inspector Shivkumar Yadav, Station Incharge, Shujalpur Mandi.

Incident Details

On March 12, 2024, the complainant lodged a report at Shujalpur Mandi Police Station that an unknown person had lured and taken away her 13-year-old granddaughter. Based on the report, a case under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Shujalpur Mandi Police Station as Crime No. 108/2024 and investigation was initiated.

During the investigation, the abducted victim was recovered on July 1, 2024, from village Bedas, Police Station Badi Patu, District Nagaur (Rajasthan). Subsequently, her statement was recorded before the Honorable Court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation, sections 366, 376(3), 376(2)(N), 506, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 5(l)/6 of the POCSO Act were added to the case.

During the investigation, accused Bhagwan Singh alias Yogesh, son of Surajmal Soni, age 23, resident of Bedas, District Nagaur (Rajasthan), was arrested on October 30, 2025, and co-accused Kiran, wife of Mukesh Soni, age 17 years and 6 months, was arrested on December 4, 2025, and presented in court, from where they were sent to jail.

The absconding female accused in the case, Kalavati, wife of Dinesh Soni, age 44, resident of village Gudravan, Police Station Nalkheda, District Agar (currently residing at village Mogdakhurd, Police Station Vivek Vihar, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan), had been absconding since the incident. A reward of ₹10,000 was announced by the Superintendent of Police, Shajapur, for her arrest.

Following persistent efforts by the constituted team, the aforementioned female accused was arrested on July 19, 2026, and presented in the Honorable Court of Shujalpur.
