Shajapur, Lord Ram's army set out from the local Shri Krishna Gymnasium on Saturday evening in the form of a procession to burn Ravana. Lord Ram, Laxman, Veer Hanuman and Shivji were seated on the chariot in the procession. Along with the members of the Dussehra Utsav Samiti of the city, dignitaries were also present in the procession. Before the start of the procession, Maha Aarti was performed by MLA Arun Bhimavad, Collector Riju Bafna, Superintendent of Police Yashpal Singh Rajput and other dignitaries in the Hanuman temple located in Shri Krishna Gymnasium. After this, the procession reached the stadium ground via the city's Kila Road, Chhota Chowk, Azad Chowk, Somvariya Bazaar, Magaria Chauraha, Kachhiwada, Bus Stand, AB Road, Dupara Road, where a grand fireworks display was held before the burning of Ravana. After that, the Shami tree was worshipped by the artist dressed as Lord Ram and other guests.

75 feet tall Ravana was burnt

It is noteworthy that this year a 75 feet tall effigy of Ravana was made by the Dussehra Utsav Samiti. The effigy of Ravana prepared in Rajasthani look by the artists of Ujjain was the center of attraction. Along with the Rajasthani look, this time the face of Ravana was also made in a new form by new artists. After worshipping with rituals at night and grand fireworks, Ravana, the symbol of ego, was burnt on the stadium ground. Thousands of people of the city were present on the stadium ground to see the burning of Ravana.
