Security forces killed 31 Naxalites in Bijapur
2 soldiers martyred, Home Minister Amit Shah said this
Bijapur, Security forces killed 31 Naxalites in an encounter in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. 2 security personnel were also martyred in this encounter. This encounter took place in the forests under the National Park of Bijapur. According to Bastar Police, 31 Naxalites have been killed in the encounter. Search operation is currently going on in the entire area.
Intermittent firing continues
A senior police officer said that the encounter started in the forest of Indravati National Park area on Sunday morning when a team of security forces went out on an anti-Naxal operation. The police officer said, "According to preliminary information, 12 Naxalites were killed in the encounter." He said that intermittent firing is still going on in the area.
Amit Shah's statement came out
Home Minister Amit Shah has said, 'In the direction of making a Naxal-free India, the security forces have achieved a major success in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. In this operation, along with killing 31 Naxalites, a large amount of weapons and explosives have also been recovered. Today we have lost two of our brave soldiers in ending anti-human Naxalism. This country will always be indebted to these heroes. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers. Also, I reiterate my resolve that before March 31, 2026, we will root out Naxalism from the country, so that no citizen of the country has to lose his life due to it.'
Six Naxalites surrender in Dantewada
Earlier on February 5, six Naxalites, including five female Naxalites, surrendered before the security forces in Dantewada district. Police officials said that influenced by the ongoing Lon Varratu (Come back home) campaign in the district, six Naxalites including five women Naxalites, Hunga alias Harendra Kumar Madvi (30), Aayate Muchaki (38), Shanti alias Jimme Korram (28), Hungi Sodi (29), Hidme Markam (30) and Jogi Sodi (35) surrendered before the security forces.
They said that the surrendered Naxalites were active in Burgum Panchayat of Malanger Area Committee. They are accused of digging roads, putting up Naxal banners and posters and being involved in other incidents against Naxalites. Officials said that the surrendered Naxalites will be provided with a financial assistance of Rs 25,000 under the rehabilitation policy of the state government along with other facilities provided by the Chhattisgarh government such as monthly financial assistance of Rs 10,000, free housing and food for three years, training for skill development, agricultural land etc. He said that under the Lon Varratu campaign, a total of 900 Naxalites, including 212 rewarded ones, have surrendered so far.
