CM announced Rs 20 lakh for the family, job for the wife
Balasore, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh to the family of Prashant Satpathy, who was killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister made this announcement after paying floral tribute to Satpathy's mortal remains in Ishani village in Remuna block of Balasore district.
Prasant's wife fainted while talking
Majhi said that the state government will give a job to Satpathy's wife Priya Darshini Acharya and will also bear the expenses for the education of their nine-year-old son Tanuj. He told reporters, "I strongly condemn this incident. The state government stands strongly with Prashant Satpathy's family in this hour of crisis. They will be given a financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh and the state government will take full care of the job of the wife and the education of the son." The Chief Minister also expressed concern about the health of Priya Darshini, who fainted while talking to him.
Shot in front of wife and son
Prashant Satpathy, a resident of Odisha, who lost his life in front of his wife and 9-year-old son in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, had gone on a trip to Kashmir after saving money for months and was very excited about it. Prashant's elder brother Sushant said that his mother was unable to speak due to shock after hearing the news of Prashant's death. He said, "Prashant had saved money for months for this trip and he was very excited about it."
Prashant had gone to Kashmir for holidays
Prashant, 40, working as an accounting assistant at the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) located in Balasore district of Odisha, had gone to Kashmir for holidays with his wife and son. Prashant's wife Priyadarshini Acharya said, "When we were descending from the ropeway in Baisaran, Prashant was shot in the head...he fell down there itself. The army came after an hour." Priyadarshini, her son Tanuj Kumar Satpathy and three relatives of Prashant reached Srinagar after hearing the news of the attack.
