Sand, drugs, junk, coal, administrative exemption, open loot, mafia's dominance
Terrorism: If excavation is stopped or monitored, they kill the person
CURATED BY – MOHMMAD MUNEER | CITYCHIEFNEWS
Shahdol, due to mafia rule which has become a menace in the district, on one hand, Madhya Pradesh is losing crores of rupees of government mineral revenue, on the other hand, the sand mining company is also forced to work under the pressure of sand mafias. On the condition of anonymity, a mineral trader says that in Shahdol, the leaders and ministers themselves work to promote the mafia, that is why, for the rapes and murders that have happened everywhere except Bengal, Delhi and Shahdol, long queues are seen raising slogans of Zindabad Murdabad from the Collectorate to Gandhi Chowk with candles in their hands, but Shahdol is today a leaderless area, due to which the helpless family of the Patwari did not get any support from the leaders and ministers in Shahdol. Not only this, after the murder of the Patwari, even the SDOP in charge of Devlond and Byahari was not changed. After the viral audio, the concerned people did not get even a bit of investigation. And the administration talks about stopping illegal mining from that area, but the terror of the miscreants dominates the police system. It is not that the mafias have not raised their head in Shahdol before. But whenever the safety of the citizens has been at stake, the police system has crushed the heads of every mafia who made a mockery of the law, but in the last one year, the law and order of the district has not been able to gather the strength to take action against the mafias.
The attackers arrived in several vehicles
The police said that around 30-35 attackers arrived in three four vehicles at the Sukhad sand check post at around 12 o'clock in the night and started fighting with sticks. During this, a fight broke out between the employees of the sand contract company and the attackers. In which Mahendra Singh 29 years, Jitendra Singh 36 years, Ravendra Tiwari 45 years, Sachin Singh 38 years and Jitendra Singh 35 years have been seriously injured. Their treatment is going on in the medical college. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The employees have alleged in the complaint that the accused also fired and looted cash worth Rs 5 thousand.
Opened front against mafia
Speaking against mafia is a crime in this district, a living example of this is the dying complaints against mafia in police stations due to which sometimes they get strength and the complainant becomes a victim of the power of mafia, there are many such examples in the city in which everyone saw the injustice with open eyes and the police which wakes up after the death of the complainant or after any untoward incident is interested in establishing a case, voice was continuously raised against the sand mafia under the leadership of Purushottam Singh Maravi from Gogpa, but due to the nexus between mafia and administration, many conspiracies were hatched to suppress the voice.
Patwari's death, helpless family
It is worth noting that in Shahdol, before ASI, sand mafia had killed a Patwari. The family has not got justice till date. Even the then lady collector could not understand the pain of the Patwari's wife Gunja Singh. Now, tired and exhausted, she is waiting at the doorstep of the High Court for the verbal order of the collector due to which the compassionate appointment financial assistance is being hindered. It is a matter of shame that in King Virat's Virat city Shahdol, she received merely twenty five thousand rupees as financial assistance for her help which was returned by the deceased Patwari's wife Gunja Singh in the chamber of the Shahdol collector.
Kindness to land mafia
The lives of two journalists are at risk in Shahdol. 15-20 armed men entered the colony in front of the house and attacked the moving car with rods, steel pipes etc. with the intention of killing the journalist. They broke the glass. CCTV evidence was submitted in the incident but the police failed to ask the names of the masters of the miscreants who had sent the photo on WhatsApp call, saying do not leave them alive. Not only this, the police got eight months and the mafia also got a chance. Meanwhile, the police just kept quiet. In the name of action, they just did the formality. But reporting on land mafia has become so costly for the journalist that he is trying to commit suicide every day. Recently, a red Thar was stopped right in front of the journalist's car, about 100 meters from the Kotwali police station. The fearless land mafia Abhishek Mishra and Shubham Srivastava, who were trapped in bribery, took out rifles to kill themselves. That day too, they barely saved their lives and took shelter in the Kotwali. Kamta was posted there on duty. After listening to the entire incident, Payasi gave them more than 3 hours of time instead of arresting the mafia red handed with weapons. He did not even register an FIR on the complaint of the journalist. The surprising thing is that till date the Kotwali police has kept the pending action on hold at the behest of the mafia, while the incident is captured in the CCTV cameras installed in half a dozen houses at the site of the incident, but the police is continuously ignoring the incident happening with the journalist.
Sand mafia active here
Illegal mining of sand has been going on for a long time in the Son Gharial area. Before the ban, the traders had illegally stored sand in many places of Sukhad, Boddiha, Masira, Gopalpur of Byawari and Dewalond police station area. Which is now being sold at high prices in the surrounding areas. Action was taken in the storage of sand and it was also confiscated. But the surprising thing is that after the seizure of illegal sand, the department handed it over to them. It is worth noting that the then collector had issued the order. In which it was clearly written that the check post will be monitored and controlled by the State Mining Corporation. For transparency, all control will be done at the level of the officer in charge of State Mining. But here too the rules and laws were ignored. Continuous theft and consumption of drugs
Last year in the district, a theft took place in which a family's hard earned money was looted after being held hostage. Thieves captured in CCTV in MPEB employee's house, Kalyanpur, are gathering dust in police files. Police's inability to reach them till date is also an administrative failure. On the other hand, a consignment of drugs is dumped late at night in an Anganwadi. The beat in-charge is clearly aware of everything. The main role of the beat in-charge posted in the police station is questionable. All those who are captured in CCTV in the theft incident can be trapped in the illegal drug business between Purani Basti and Kalyanpur. But only when the police start searching vigorously. But it is believed that here also the police works under a lot of pressure. Recently, a mafia kept ganja in a farmer's house. Then the police made a case of liquor and on the contrary had to make a case of ganja against a person named Raja. In this case, the police was greatly criticized on social media. Now the citizens are saying that if the law and order situation in the city does not improve, then the people of the city will have to come out on the streets. And whatever the case may have been till now, the mafia in Shahdol does not have the guts to play bloody games, now the trend has started, the situation will be horrific.
